channeling martha

one of the most surprising things about myself
since having kids is my love to create.

crafting is something that happens
everyday in my house, and i am
constantly on the lookout for
ideas and inspiration.

so you can imagine my excitement
when i came across this.

i ordered my copy about a week ago and had
it shipped to my local store.  and today i picked
it up (after the Princess Sophia party of course).

craft-a-day is so full of fun and easy to follow
ideas that i don`t even know where to start!
luckily i have three little ones that will
provide me with some insight into
our starting point.

enjoy!

love, unsweetened

i love valentine's day.
yes, an over-commercialized
holiday, but also the perfect way to celebrate
love a little louder with something crafty
for your littles.

i was looking for some craft inspiration
that did not involve sugar for my
daughter's class, when i stumbled upon this.

using colored construction paper, a
heart stamp, an exacto knife, and rulers
i bought in the clearance section of
michaels, i finished 18 valentines
for my daughter's classmates in
only 30 minutes.

and to save you a little time,
here's the pdf!

voila!  love unsweetened.

bug off naturally

we have been fortunate enough to
spend weekends this summer at
the beach and playing at cottages.

sand, sun, boating, and campfires
are the things our summer
memories are made of this year.

and bugs.  lots of bugs.

lucky for me, i have found an all natural
bug spray that is safe for my whole family.

garden therapy has developed an all natural
recipe to remedy those pesky critters that
make us itch all over.

and if that isn't genius enough, you
should check out their etsy shop.

a circus even peta would approve of

my kids love to learn about
wild animals.  where they live,
what they eat, how fast they can run.

so when the circus comes to town,
you can imagine the pleading that occurs
to take them.  the trouble is, i'm not a
supporter of the circus.

with the help of h is for handmade,
we can now at least pretend we're
at the circus.

perfect way for your kids to run
their own circus.

and the best part?
it's cruelty free.

balancing act

expanding my children's abilities is
something i strive to do everyday.

my four year old's imagination is running
wild with make believe stories, while my
three year old is more of a hands
on guy, showing his love of building
and balancing.

this toy from smiling tree toys is
perfect for him.

an organic balancing act that's out of this
world is sure to provide fun and
challenge to your child.

is a fantastic learning tool for little minds.
